Our Tesla Credentials

Williams Body Works is the only Tesla Approved Body Shop serving Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, the Hunter Valley, Port Stephens, Maitland, Muswellbrook and Singleton. This isn't a self-awarded title — it's a manufacturer certification backed by factory training, approved tooling and ongoing compliance with Tesla's repair standards.

Tesla Approved Body Shops are factory trained and equipped to rebuild Tesla vehicles to original manufacturer specifications — for structural integrity, safety performance and quality of finish. Not every repairer can meet that standard. We do.

Aluminium Welding

Tesla vehicles — particularly the Model S, Model X and the newer Model 3 and Y — use advanced aluminium alloy construction in their body structures. Aluminium behaves very differently to steel under impact and during repair. It requires specialist welding techniques, dedicated equipment and a clean, contamination-free environment.

Our technicians are certified aluminium welders with hands-on Tesla experience. We use a dedicated aluminium welding and panel repair facility — completely separate from our steel welding area — to prevent cross-contamination. This is non-negotiable for Tesla repairs and a standard many general repairers simply cannot meet.

  • Certified aluminium MIG/TIG welding

  • Dedicated aluminium repair zone — contamination-controlled

  • Aluminium-specific dent and panel repair techniques

  • Full structural measurement before and after repair

Steel Welding & High-Strength Structural Repair

Tesla vehicles also incorporate ultra-high-strength steel (UHSS) in critical structural areas — including the B-pillars, floor rails and reinforcement zones. These materials require precise heat management and manufacturer-approved welding procedures. Incorrect repairs can compromise crash performance and passenger safety.

Our team are trained in UHSS welding and use OEM-approved riveting and bonding procedures alongside traditional MIG/MAG welding. Every structural repair is measured against Tesla's factory specifications using our Spanesi measurement system.

  • Ultra-high-strength steel welding (MIG/MAG)

  • OEM-approved riveting and adhesive bonding

  • Spanesi measurement system — structural accuracy verification

  • Full chassis and alignment checks post-repair

Our Tesla Workshop Equipment

Tesla Training & Certification

Our owner Kyle has been working with Tesla vehicles for 5–6 years — longer than most repairers in NSW. Our technicians have completed Tesla's specialist training programme, which covers vehicle architecture, repair methodology, materials handling and safety protocols around high-voltage battery systems.

This training isn't a one-off. Tesla updates its repair procedures as new models are released and as technology evolves. We stay current — because your Tesla deserves nothing less.

Repairing Electric Vehicles

What You Need to Know

Electric vehicles are fundamentally different to internal combustion engine cars — and not just under the bonnet. The battery pack, power electronics and high-voltage cabling run throughout the vehicle structure. A collision — even a seemingly minor one — can affect these systems in ways that aren't immediately visible.

That's why EV repairs should only be carried out by trained specialists. At Williams Body Works, our technicians are trained in:

  • High-voltage system awareness and safe working procedures

  • Battery inspection and damage assessment post-collision

  • EV-specific structural repair protocols

  • Software recalibration requirements after ADAS (driver assistance) sensor repairs

  • Correct handling and disposal of EV materials

We work closely with Tesla's technical support network to ensure every repair is carried out correctly — and safely — from start to finish.
